Is it really offline?
Yes. After the one-time model download, Hermit works in flight mode. Nothing you type is sent anywhere, because there is nowhere to send it.
What does "uncensored" mean here?
Hermit answers adult questions plainly, without lectures or refusals for the sake of it. It still won't help anyone hurt people.
How big is the download?
About 0.5 to 1.5 GB, depending on which model your iPhone can run. You download it once, over Wi-Fi.
Is it as smart as ChatGPT?
No, and we won't pretend. A phone-sized model is smaller than a cloud one. It's great for everyday questions, writing and thinking out loud. It can't browse, because it's offline.
